Why Take The Speed Test?

Our governments want everyone to have fast internet. They have established targets of 50Mbps down and 10Mbps up. From time to time, both the Federal and Provincial governments having funding programs available to support broadband projects.

Connectednorth.ca has partnered with CIRA’s Internet Performance Test, to collect the most detailed information relating to Northern Ontario’s internet speeds.

When you complete surveys and speed tests, it provides valuable data about the state of broadband in Northern Ontario from the very people who live and work here and you are helping to support applications to funding agencies such as, the Universal Broadband Fund and the ICON Provincial Broadband Fund.

Testing Northern Ontario Internet

Connectednorth.ca has partnered with CIRA’s Internet Performance Test, to collect the most detailed information relating to Northern Ontario’s internet speeds. We use the information about speeds at your property to show the need and the impact improved broadband infrastructure will have. This helps in supporting applications to funding agencies, it helps show a business case for ISP’s to develop their networks and sometimes it can point out that there are networks issues that can be repaired.
